Manufacturing Technology Center to be Honored
QVCC's Manufacturing Technology Center is being honored by the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), a nonprofit company that provides resources to support making Connecticut a competitive business environment.
CERC is honoring the top economic development projects, programs and leaders from regions around the state at its annual event CELEBRATE CT! on November 28 at The Bushnell in Hartford.
More than 150 economic development and business professionals from around the state will attend CELEBRATE CT! to recognize top companies, projects, programs, organizations and individuals for their contribution to the state’s economy – such as consistent or growing employment levels, role in changing the character of its community or civic engagement, strong public/private collaboration to encourage new investment, or leadership resulting in regional growth or improvements.
“These awards pay tribute to the hardworking people and successful programs and projects of 2012,” said CERC President and CEO Robert Santy. “We at CERC are proud to partner with the regions to celebrate these admirable honorees, and we look forward to what 2013 will bring us.”
The college's Manufacturing Technology Center and the Coventry Regional Farmers’ Market/Farmers’ Market Trail are the honorees from the northeast region. Also being honored are Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, OpSail CT 2012, Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, City of Waterbury Anti-blight Program, and Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program, to name a few.
